Join me in the January Cure....

I always get kind of sad when the holidays are over, but for the past few years the January Cure has given me something to look forward to in the new year. If you're not familiar with the January Cure be sure to head over to apartmenttherapy.com and sign up for the free emails. Every day in January we are given a task to work on to clean and declutter our homes and prepare for the year ahead. Weekdays are small tasks and weekends are saved for larger room size tasks (ie. kitchen declutter). That being said yesterday was our first challenge and declutering a drawer was our assignment. I chose to declutter my junk drawer in my hutch. I added the hutch to my home back in September and never really took the time to get the drawer configured for my needs. (needless to say, it was a mess!)
So without further ado, here are the before and afters:

I was able to get rid of an entire shopping bag of clutter, and relocated some crafting supplies to my crafting area. Overall day 1 was a success!

Bathroom Progress...

So I made some progress in the bathroom over the weekend, the hubby and I started shiplapping the wall. (I even got him to use the nail gun with me!) There are only a few feet done in these pictures, but it still gives a good idea of where the bathroom is headed.

Before we started the shiplap, the room just looked so cold and empty with its all white walls. (I was even starting to wonder if I made the wrong choice in painting the walls white.) I'm still planning on painting the shiplap white, but just the texture makes the room seem warmer and more interesting! Next up is finishing this wall obviously, and deciding on what accessories to add back in. Some of my ideas are warm wood tones and dark metals.

This is the shiplap I chose to use: https://www.homedepot.com/p/ARAUCO-9-16-in-x-5-1-4-in-x-12-ft-Radiata-Pine-Nickel-Gap-Ship-Lap-Board-1186661/300803814

My paint color is glidden pure white: This is the paint they pull off the shelf with no color mixed in (they will put it in the paint shaker to make things easier once you get home though!
